MARYVILLE, Mo.- Northwest Missouri State University celebrated the opening of its newest campus dining options with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning in the J.W. Jones Student Union.
Freshëns, the nation's largest frozen yogurt and smoothie company, and Papa John's Pizza opened stores at Northwest as students returned to the campus last month.
Maryville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Luke Revin joined Tina Lankas, senior food service director at Northwest, and other University representatives for the ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday.
While the Freshëns location at Northwest underwent a redesign to reflect the company's devotion to environmental responsibility, Papa John's opened its campus location as a result of student surveys.
"Students were interested in bringing a pizza concept to the campus, so we listened," Lankas said.
However, the Papa John's isn't just for students, Lankas added. Local residents also can place dine-in or carry-out orders by calling 660.562.1410. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Both stores are located on the second floor of the Student Union in a space known as The Runt.
