MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State Bearcat football team travels to Omaha, Neb., Saturday, Sept. 18, to take on the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Due to television coverage, the kickoff time for Saturday's game has been moved from 6 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.
For fans traveling to Omaha for the game, Saturday's tailgate sponsored by the Northwest Alumni Association will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at Elmwood Park on the UNO campus. The park is located just southwest of the visitor's side of Al Caniglia Field (UNO's stadium). Countryside Bistro of Maryville will be serving a catered meal for $7 per person. Fans may also do their own tailgating. Please bring your own lawn chairs and note that alcohol is against the park and campus rules.
Parking is available in the parking garage (also a short walk from the park) for a fee. There are also several free parking lots (in the park, in front of the field house, etc.). Parking is somewhat limited, so the earlier you arrive to the game the better. Click here for a UNO campus map.
Tickets may be purchased the day of the game or by calling 402.554.MAVS. The visitor's side is all general admission.
For more information, contact the Northwest Alumni Association at firstname.lastname@example.org or 660.562.1248.
Earlier this year, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced that a conference matchup will be televised each week. This week's Northwest game against UNO, as well as select future MIAA matchups during football and basketball season, will be carried live on DirecTV or Dish on KSMO in the Kansas City area as well as several cable systems throughout the MIAA's geographical footprint, including Cox Communications in Kansas, Cablevision in St. Joseph, Eagle Communications in Hays, Kan., and Mediacom cable systems in Springfield, Columbia and Jefferson City.
A few chapters of the Northwest Alumni Association have set up watch parties for those who cannot make the trip to Omaha.
If you can't make the game or a watch party, catch the play-by-play action through the Bearcat Radio Network or the online internet webcasts or purchase live video streaming through B2 Networks and the MIAA.
