Faculty music recital to celebrate bicentennials in music

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Ms. Eva Peng, adjunct instructor of music, and Dr. Anthony Olson, associate professor of music, will present a faculty recital at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 in the Charles Johnson Theatre inside the Olive Deluce Fine Arts Building.

The event is free and open to the public.

The program, which will celebrate 200 years since the birth of Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann, will include vocal and solo piano works by both composers. The program also will include pieces by Isaac Albéniz, who celebrates his 150th birthday this year, and American pianist and composer Louis Moreau Gottschalk.

Peng and Olson also performed the program in England and Holland during the summer. Olson and Peng have two forthcoming CDs that include works featured on their recital program.
