Business networking event for Northwest's Kansas City alumni set for May 19
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends are invited to Northwest Networks - Kansas City, a business networking event, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Solar Solutions of Kansas City (6418 College Blvd., Overland Park, Kan.).
Sam Kane, a 1982 Northwest alumnus, and Vicki Mulligan Kane, who also attended Northwest, are owners of Solar Solutions of Kansas City and will serve as the event's hosts.
Following the Northwest Networks - Kansas City social, participants will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and share a little about their business or employment interests as well as learn more about Solar Solutions of Kansas City. Appetizers and drinks will be provided.
Northwest Networks - Kansas City was established by the Northwest Foundation four years ago, and today more than 200 alumni and friends are involved. The group meets at least once a quarter.
"While social networking sites are increasing in popularity, there is still value in face-to-face networking opportunities, and Northwest Networks - Kansas City allows our alumni and friends to expand their business connections and interact with fellow Bearcats in the Kansas City area," said Polly Howard, a development officer for the Northwest Foundation. "Each meeting provides a setting to not only meet or reacquaint yourself with fellow alumni, but a chance to hear about businesses and learn how you can help each other in your endeavors."
