Five art students have work displayed in Kansas City gallery's annual exhibit
MARYVILLE, Mo.- Five Northwest art students have work being displayed at the Kansas City Artists Coalition gallery as part of its annual Undergraduate College Student Exhibition.
The work of 48 students from colleges across the region was selected for the exhibition, which is on display April 9-23 at the KCAC gallery at 201 Wyandotte in Kansas City.
The exhibition was open to all art students from the regional colleges including the Kansas City Art Institute, University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Kansas, University of Central Missouri and other smaller institutions. Linda Lighton, a Kansas City-area artist, juried the exhibit.
"To have 10 percent of the exhibitors representing Northwest honors not only our students but also the Northwest art program," said Philip Laber, professor of art.
The Northwest students represented in the exhibit are:
- Rachael Arnold (senior art major; Titonka, Iowa) - photography
- Stephanie Bruning (senior art major; Excelsior Springs, Mo.) - photography
- Chadric Harms (junior art major; Cole Camp, Mo.) - photography
- Michael Martin (senior art major; Greenwood, Mo.) - painting
- Dustin Koopman (senior art major; Falls City, Neb.) - sculpture
