New student-lead organization bringing Red Cross to Northwest

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Bearcat Heroes for the American Red Cross was founded by students in March to raise awareness of the American Red Cross.

An organizational meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday, April 12 on the third floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union in Meeting Room A. The meeting is open to the public.

The Bearcat Heroes for the American Red Cross is a service-oriented organization that will give students, faculty and community members the opportunity to volunteer, raise funds and host events for the Red Cross. Proceeds will go to the area Red Cross located in St. Joseph, disaster relief funds and lend support where it's needed in the community.

"This is a great opportunity for students to give back to the community and the Red Cross while representing Northwest," said Senior Kael Martin, vice president and founding member.
