Spring Art Show and Pottery Sale to benefit art students, clubs

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Clay Club will host its annual Spring Art Show and Pottery Sale this weekend at the Fire Arts Building, located south of the Olive Deluce Fine Arts Building at the south end of campus.

The event will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24.

Students from all studio areas are encouraged to participate in the show and sale, which will offer pottery, sculpture, paintings, drawings, prints and photographs.

The sale is an excellent opportunity to purchase gifts for Mother’s Day, weddings and other occasions during the spring and summer. There should be something to fit everyone's taste and budget.

Artworks can be purchased by cash or check, and shoppers are reminded that a line of customers often forms before the show opens.

Eighty-five percent of the money raised at the show goes directly to students, and helps offset the cost of art supplies. Remaining proceeds support art-oriented activities such as field trips and other co-curricular activities for the student organizations Clay Club and Art Association.
