Dr. Rochelle Hiatt

Dr. Rochelle Hiatt, assistant professor in Northwest Missouri State's psychology, sociology and counseling department, was recognized by the Northwest Missouri School Counselor Association as School Counseling Supervisor of the Year .

Hiatt began her teaching career at Northwest in 1996 and has been director of Northwest's school counseling master's program since 1998, in addition to serving as an instructor. The size of the program has doubled in the last five years and consistently produces award-winning counselors at the regional and state levels.

The NWMSCA Outstanding Guidance Director/Supervisor of the Year Award recognizes a guidance director or supervisor in the Northwest Missouri District for outstanding service achievement that has made an impact for counselors on a local, state or national level. Nominations are based on professional qualities, innovation and implementation of new programs, leadership and support.
