Comedic musical duo Hard 'n Phirm to perform March 2
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Hard 'n Phirm, a comedy musical duo based in Los Angeles is set to bring its act to Northwest for one night next month.
The performance, hosted by the Student Activities Council's Entertainment Committee, will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the Mary Linn Auditorium of the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
The performance is free and open to the public. No tickets are being issued, which means seating will be general admission on a first-come, first-served basis the night of the performance.
The duo, comprised of Chris Hardwick and Mike Phirman, specializes in comedy rock with "a non-stop hilarity smoothie of stand-up comedy, music and video," according to their Web site.
They have performed at highly-touted venues such as the Aspen Comedy Festival, Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival, SxSW and Coachella. They've also appeared on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," MTV and VH1, and they have aired their own special on "Comedy Central Presents." In 2008, they won the Effinfunny.com Comedian of the Year Award. In 2005, they released their debut album, titled "Horses and Grasses."
SAC Executive Board President Stephanie Robbins said she is excited about the performance.
"This is something new that we have never brought in before," Robbins said. "I hope the students will find them as hilarious and entertaining as I do."
