Maryville, Mo. - It is with sadness that the university has learned from the parents of a student their daughter passed away Wednesday night in Kansas City.
Dana Brown, 20, a junior from Kansas City, Mo., was pronounced dead late Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She was admitted to the hospital on Monday.
Brown was a pre-nursing major and a resident assistant in Millikan Hall.
The loss of a member of our Northwest community brings sadness and grief to each of us in our own way. The university has arranged for counselors to be available to help anyone who feels the need for counseling or simply wants to talk to someone.
Students and other members of the university community in need of counseling services should contact personal and development counseling services at 660.562.1220.
