Dr. Jason White, assistant professor in Northwest's Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, was inducted into the Raytown Quality of Schools Alumni Hall of Fame on Nov. 1. As one of six inductees, White was the youngest to be inducted from Raytown High School and the 39th in the district's 106-year existence.
White was honored for his accomplishments in the fields of investment management and economics research, in addition to his work as an educator, entrepreneur, portfolio manager and financial consultant.
During three days of induction events, White spoke to about 200 high-achieving students at Raytown and Raytown South high schools about the importance of higher education and its correlation to lifetime earnings.
The Hall of Fame pays tribute to alumni who have achieved a certain level of distinction in their lives and careers. The school district's nominating committee selects individuals in business, visual or performing arts, community service, academics, athletics or military service.
