National championship travel, ticket options available for Bearcat football fans
Travel, ticket and celebration package information has been announced for Northwest fans attending the 2009 NCAA Division II football national championship game Saturday, Dec. 12, in Florence, Ala. Kickoff between the Northwest Bearcats and the Grand Valley State University Lakers is at noon CST at Braly Municipal Stadium.
Purchase travel and tickets
Travel package and ticket purchases may be made in person at the Student Services Center on the first floor of the Administration Building or by calling 660.562.1212.
• Sunday, Dec. 6, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
• Monday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Tuesday, Dec. 8, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Wednesday, Dec. 9, 9 a.m.-noon
All reservations and ticket purchases must be made by noon Wednesday, Dec. 9. All sales are final and must be paid with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Game tickets
Games tickets are $20, and lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.
Championship celebration package
This year's championship celebration package, sponsored by the Northwest Alumni Association, is free for all Bearcat fans.
• The tailgate party begins at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, in the parking lot north of Braly Municipal Stadium. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and donuts (while supplies last) will be available to all Bearcat fans prior to the game. The Bearcat Marching Band and Northwest cheerleaders will perform.
• The postgame celebration begins immediately following the game at the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa's Conference Center, 800 Cox Creek Parkway South in Florence. This complimentary event for all Bearcat fans features the trophy presentation and remarks from Bearcat coaches and players. A cash bar will be available. (Please note, food will not be served at this event.)
Directions to postgame celebration: From the visitors' side of Braly Municipal Stadium, head south on Royal Avenue all the way to Veterans Drive. Take a left on Veterans Drive and go about 1.5 miles. Turn right on the driveway before the Marriott sign. The Marriott Conference Center is on the right, 800 Cox Creek Parkway South.
Travel options
Option 1: Friday morning via chartered bus
Ride to the championship game in Florence with fellow Bearcats. It's a 12-hour bus ride, and fans get to leave all the details to Northwest. Buses will depart Maryville at 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, from the paved parking lot west of the College Park Pavilion and will make
several rest stops and a meal stop. Fans will stay at the Hampton Inn in Florence. Saturday, the buses will arrive at Braly Municipal Stadium about 9 a.m. for the Bearcat tailgate party and will leave Florence following the postgame celebration at about 6 p.m. and will make a stop for an evening meal.

• 3 people per room……….$204 per person
• 4 people per room……….$195 per person
Option 2: Friday evening via chartered bus
Just like in Option 1, fans can leave the details to Northwest. This bus will leave Maryville at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, from the paved parking lot west of the College Park Pavilion. It's a 12-hour bus ride, and the bus will stop at Shoney's in Florence at 7 a.m. for breakfast and then arrive at Braly Municipal Stadium about 9 a.m. - just in time for the Bearcat tailgate party. The bus will leave Florence following the postgame celebration at about 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, and will make a stop for an evening meal.
