Northwest Jazz Ensemble shares stage with elite high school musicians

The Northwest Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. William Richardson, associate professor of music, will present a concert at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Buildings' Charles Johnson Theater. The event is free and open to the public.

Joining the 19-member Northwest Jazz Ensemble will be the Northwest All-District Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of jazz saxophonist Doug Talley.

"We're excited to once again share the stage with the finest high school jazz musicians from our area," Richardson said. "With Saturday's Northwest football playoff game set for a noon kickoff, the timing is perfect for jazz enthusiasts to enjoy some exciting music at 5 p.m. after the game."

In addition to Saturday's concert, the Studio Jazz Ensemble will present an 8 p.m. concert Monday, Nov. 23, in the Charles Johnson Theater.
