Offutt is guest at second Local Authors Luncheon

Jason Offutt, instructor of mass communication, is the featured author of this year's second Local Authors Luncheon.

The luncheon, sponsored by the Bearcat Bookstore, is open to the public and begins 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the J.W. Jones Student Union's First Ladies Dining Room. Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch, and complimentary beverages and desserts will be provided.

Offutt, who authored "Haunted Missouri: A Ghostly Guide to the Show-Me State's Most Spirited Spots" and "Darkness Walks: The Shadow People Among Us," will give a 15-minute presentation about his books followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session. Both books will be available for purchase following the luncheon.

Dr. John Gallaher, assistant professor of English and author of "The Little Book of Guesses" and "Map of the Folded World," will be the featured author at next month's Local Authors Luncheon, which begins at noon, Nov. 17, in the First Ladies Dining Room.
