Two members of the Northwest community, President Dr. John Jasinski and women's head basketball coach Gene Steinmeyer, will compete for the "Hottest Guy in Maryville" title - to be determined by eating hot wings.

The event, sponsored by KNIM/97.1 FM, will be broadcast live between 6:45 and 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. A live video webcast also will be available to view the contest at .

Others competing for the title include Matt Gaarder of KNIM, Darrin White, Nodaway County sheriff, Mayor Chad Jackson, Jim Weiderholt from the city of Maryville's Public Works Department as well as Madison Davis and Shannon Hendrix, two listeners who were selected to participate.

Each of the contestants will eat hot wings provided by Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar in St. Joseph, starting with the mildest of 14 sauces and progressing to the hottest.
