Widmer featured on 'Dallas Morning News' podcast
Award winning Northwest journalism teacher, Assistant Professor Laura Widmer, was recently featured on the premier edition of the "Dallas Morning News'" Newspapers in Education podcast.
Widmer, who acts as faculty advisor for the "Northwest Missourian" student newspaper and "Tower" yearbook, is director of student publications at the University. She is a recipient of the National Scholastic Press Association Pioneer Award, past-president of College Media Advisers and a member of the CMA Hall of Fame.
During the podcast, Widmer addresses ways in which high school journalism advisers should prepare students for a career in journalism and the impact on the profession of modern technology and new media.
