Dr. Paul McGraw, a veteran facilities manager and executive who recently spearheaded construction of a $40 million corporate site for Countrywide Financial Corp. in Tampa, Fla., has been named Northwest's director of environmental services and assumes his new post on Thursday, July 23.
Though McGraw officially remains an employee of ARAMARK Corp., which provides maintenance engineering, grounds-keeping and custodial services to the University on a contract basis, he will function practically as a member of Northwest's management team.
He succeeds Sharon Lab, ARAMARK's district manager for higher education, who has been serving as interim director.
McGraw, who will move to Maryville from Lenexa, Kan., holds a doctorate in business administration from California Coast University and has more than 25 years of experience in the facilities development and maintenance field.
"Northwest is extremely pleased with the selection of Paul McGraw as director of environmental Services," said Dan Edmonds, Northwest's acting vice president of finance and operations. " He brings a wealth of experience in all areas of facilities management, and he has been very successful in his career. I am confident Paul will be a great fit for Northwest."
In addition to Countrywide, where he was a regional vice president, he has served as director of facilities and support services for Catholic Healthcare West in Oxnard, Calif., and managing director of Koll-Amata in Bangkok, Thailand, where he directed a joint venture undertaken by American and Thai companies that provided facilities and property management to high-rise buildings and manufacturing plants.
As director of facilities and support services for Tenant Healthcare in Los Angeles from 1991-1995, he was responsible for support services at a 250-bed teaching hospital and oversaw numerous improvement projects. Earlier in his career, McGraw held management positions with the Honeywell Healthcare Business Unit in Irvine, Calif., and ServiceMaster Management Services in Illinois.
"I'm excited to be joining the facilities team at Northwest," McGraw said, "and I'm sure that we will be able to continue their record of collaboration and teamwork in providing outstanding quality and customer service. Northwest has done a terrific job over the years, and I'm looking forward to helping raise the bar to the next level."
