The fourth and final presidential candidate selected to visit Northwest, Dr. Joseph Shepard, Ph.D., vice president for administrative services and finance, Florida Gulf Coast University, will arrive on campus Monday afternoon, April 27.
Like the previous candidate, Dr. Kent T. Porterfield, Ed.D., vice president for student development at Saint Louis University, Shepard will answer questions during a town hall-style meeting beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Boardroom. The public session will be webcast via live streaming audio by KXCV/KRNW, the University's public radio station. To access the webcast go to www.kxcv.org .
Shepard was named to his present position in 2003. He joined the Florida Gulf Coast University administration in 1995 as assistant dean of student services and was promoted to dean in 2002. Prior to his work at Florida Gulf Coast, he was a housing administrator at the University of North Texas-Denton.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics education from Northern Arizona University and a master's in business administration from the University of North Texas. Shepard earned his doctorate from Florida International University in Miami.
