Darcy Howard, a Northwest business education and marketing major from Craig, has received the Susan Douglas Memorial Scholarship from the Northwest District of the Missouri Business Education Association, an organization of high school, middle school and post-secondary business education teachers.
The scholarship is named in memory of Susan Douglas, a business teacher at the Nodaway-Holt school, who died of cancer in 2008. Recipients must demonstrate their intention to teach business education and have graduated from high school in the MBEA Northwest District.
Howard received the scholarship during a presentation ceremony attended by members of Douglas' family, including her husband, Rick; father, Doyne Swan of Fairfax; daughter Cari Douglas Newberry of Platte City; and son Ryan of Kansas City.
