The Lambda Omega Chapter of the Order of Omega, an honor society for Northwest students who are members of Greek-letter organizations, will host its annual charity golf tournament Saturday, April 4, at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course east of Maryville.
All proceeds from the four-person scramble will benefit the SSM Hospice and Home Care Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides hospice and home-care services to terminally ill patients and families not otherwise able to afford it.
SSM Home Care of Northwest Missouri and SSM Hospice of Northwest Missouri, located in Maryville, are both affiliates of the foundation, which is headquartered in St. Louis. Last year's event raised almost $4,000 for the organization.
Cost of entering the tournament, which has a 1 p.m. shotgun start, is $65 for non-students and $50 for students with a valid Bearcat ID. The entry fee includes a T-Shirt, sack lunch, gift bag, hole and flight prizes and on-course beverage. Hole sponsorships are available for $200.
Those wishing to sponsor a hole or a team, or sign up a team, can pick up an entry form at the Office of Campus Activities on the second floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union or e-mail Julie Ray, tournament chair, at S201474@nwmissouri.edu . Ray can also be reached by phone at 816.682.5884.
Order of Omega is a national Greek-letter honor society whose members meet high standards of academic achievement, community service and leadership.
The Northwest Omega chapter works to support philanthropic events while providing members of the University's fraternities and sororities with organizational training and community service skills. It also seeks to promote the values of commitment and volunteerism shared by all members of Northwest's Greek-letter community.
