Amanda Petefish-Schrag, assistant professor of communications, theatre and languages, has been selected to receive one of seven 2009 Kennedy Center National Teaching Artist Grants.
The grants are bestowed each year by the prestigious Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. to faculty from colleges and universities throughout the United States. Award criteria include achievement as a teaching artist and contributions to Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival programming.
Petefish-Schrag was nominated for the award in the actor training category during the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, which took place in January at the University of Kansas.
The $2,000 grant will underwrite professional development activities for Petefish-Schrag related to training student actors.
