program will consist of online courses for educators interested in teaching
online and corporate educators interested in training online. The program is offered

- 44-582 Technology Curriculum & Integration
- An examination of
standards and curriculum utilized in developing K-12 online instruction.
- 44-585 Instructional Technology and the Learning
Process
- An in-depth study
of the cognitive process as it relates to a virtual learning environment.
- 44-614 Introduction to Online
Teaching and Learning
- An introduction to online teaching and
learning. Various topics will be
explored as they relate to online teaching and learning including types of
virtual learning, online teaching methods and strategies, communication,
student engagement/interactivity, digital citizenship (legal and ethical issues
related to technology), and web-based technology tools.
- 44-635 Instructional Systems Design
- Examines the
fundamental principles of instructional design as they apply to instruction and
online learning. Special emphasis on web-based instructional design and delivery.
- 44-650 Building a Virtual Learning Environment
- This course provides an in-depth study of
building a virtual (online) learning environment. Various learning management systems (LMS)
will be explored and evaluated. The course will focus on developing a quality
online course for successful e-Learning.
Criteria and/or standards for developing a quality online course will be
explored. Students will learn to become a peer evaluator for quality online
content and/or online courses.
