For Non-Missouri Residents

(US citizens & permanent residents)

There are three categories of costs associated with a student attending school at the Missouri Academy:

1. Tuition and Fees:

Approximately $12,240 for out-of-state tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year
Merit-based partial scholarships are available for non-Missouri residents

2. Room and Board:

Approximately $7,095 for the 2007-2008 academic year
Non-Missouri residents receive scholarships based on demonstrated financial need ("Need" information is based on FAFSA)
Families must file the FAFSA form by April 30 each year to qualify for any room & board scholarships. FAFSA website address: www.fafsa.ed.gov -- Reporting code: 002496 (Northwest Missouri State University)

3. Miscellaneous Expenses/Incidental Costs:

Figures are estimates and subject to change.

Housing Prepayment -- due at Summer Orientation $150 (first year only)

Wellness Center Fee -- takes place of per visit fee $70 per semester

Student Activity Fee -- for recreational facilities $35 per semester

Northwest Bookstore -- pens, pencils, paper, etc. $45 ($5 x 9 months)

Printouts, photocopies, faxes -- as needed $90 ($10 x 9 months)

Telephone, long distance -- as needed $90 ($10 x 9 months)

Laundry -- as needed $102 ($3 x 34 weeks)

Personal items, toiletries, laundry soap, movies, eating out, etc. $270 ($30 x 9 months)

Shuttle Charges -- as needed $350 ($50 x 7 months)
Prom in May (optional) $45 + dress/tux, flowers, etc.

Graduation announcements, senior rings (optional) $200 (varies greatly! -- 2nd year only)

Missouri Academy Yearbook (optional) $40 per year

Northwest Tower Yearbook (optional) $40 per year

Student Activities (optional) -- such as zoo trips, opera tickets, wing t-shirts, etc. $75 per year
