Located on the first floor of Owens Library, the Government Documents Area serves the 6th Congressional District. Owens Library was designated a Federal Depository (#0325A) in 1982, and has been a full Missouri Depository since 1976. We select about 22.25% of materials offered to participating libraries by the Federal Depository Library Program and all of the Missouri Documents. Selections of Federal Documents are made in accordance with the perceived needs of our patrons including the community. Our collection also includes the official manuals of all 50 states.
Both federal and state government documents are shelved by separate numbering systems on first floor. Government documents are available in paper format, CD-ROMs, microfiche, maps, and through Internet access. Most documents are located by searching the library catalog. If you wish to make a thorough search of government documents, ask for assistance at the Library Services Desk. Most documents may be checked out for three weeks.
