First floor contains the Library Services Desk, Reference collection, federal & state documents, pamphlets, student lounge, Information and Internet Access Stations, the Academic Computing Support Center, & a Pentium & Macintosh computer lab with printers.

Lounge area:
The student lounge on first floor contains vending machines, restrooms & telephones. This is the area of the library where you are invited to eat. In other areas, you may have beverages only. Thank you for your cooperation.


Second floor contains audiovisual materials, a language lab, periodicals (paper & microform), ERIC documents, selected hometown newspapers, curriculum materials, children and young adult books, catalog terminals, typewriters, archives, electronic classrooms, the Browsing Collection, a computer lab with a printer, & an Oasis for docking & printing from notebook computers.

Third floor contains most of the library's collections & catalog terminals. Music scores are located along the center wall by the elevator. Clockwise, beginning with the shelves on the left from the stairway entrance, the collections are:

  • Main Collection (100 - 900)
  • Quarto & Folio - oversized books

Current maps of the library are available by asking at the Library Services Desk or on the web.

Location designated for quiet study:
The third floor is a quiet floor. You are responsible for respecting the study rights of others. You may beassertive about asking others to be quiet or ask for assistance at the Library Services Desk.

Group study rooms:
Group study rooms are available on third floor on a first-come, first-served basis. These are the only areas of the third floor where groups should meet for discussion.
