Footer

Header
1. Each page has a header unless it is part of a tutorial, frame-based set of pages, or a pop-up window.
2. Tutorials should include a credits page instead of standard headers and footers.

  • The HTML Title Tag includes Owens Library and the title of the page.
    • For example: Owens Library Search for Articles
  • All images in the header require alt tags inside of brackets. For example: <Owens Library's logo>
  • There should be a <Br> between the navigational toolbar and the page title. Page title is centered, size 5, and Arial font. The page title does not include "Owens Library".
  • All pages should include <META name="description" content="..."> tags and <META name="keywords" content="..."> tags.
    • For example: <META name="description" content="Everything you wanted to know about coins, from prices to history.">
    • <META name="keywords" content="coins, coin collecting, coin history, prices, coins for sale">
  • Use short main page titles and expand if needed in the subtitle so that links don't wrap in tables as on subjects.htm. For example, if thinking about naming the page: Everything you wanted to know about coins, from prices to history - maybe think about naming it: Coins: Everything you wanted to know from prices to history so that Coins could be the link and not the whole title.
