Update Checklist

To locate credible Web pages, search the links provided in
Sources for Locating WWW Resources.

When selecting Web pages for Webliographies, keep these criteria in mind:
  • Authority (Who is the author/sponsor of the page? What are the author's credentials?)
  • Design (Is the page easy to use? Does the organization of material support the page's purpose?)
  • Accuracy (Where does the information come from? Has the information been peer-reviewed or refereed?)
  • Purpose (Is the page informational, educational, political, recreational, commercial or a combination of one or more of these?)
  • Target (Who is the intended audience of the page?)
For further explanation of these criteria with representative examples of each type, link to the Evaluating Web Sites page.
