This page is designed as a general guide to academic resources in the field
of psychology. It gives links to directories of psychology resources, search
engines and databases, reference resources, a student center, a digital library
and mental health resources. In addition, it provides links to two related
Academic Info pages - statistics and artificial intelligence. The page is
maintained by Mike Madin who also provides a collection development policy
as well as a statement about his background and qualifications.
APA Monitor on Psychology
This site is the homepage for the professional publication by the American
Psychological Association of the same name. Included here are full-text articles
from the publication, as well as news, statistical information, links, and
an archive of previous issues. All of this is housed in a searchable database.

of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Linguistics, and many areas of Computer Science
(e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics, vision, learning, speech, neural

(e.g., ethology, behavioral ecology, sociobiology, behavior genetics, evolutionary
theory), Medicine (e.g., psychiatry, neurology, human genetics, imaging),
Anthropology (e.g., primatology, cognitive ethnology, archeology, paleontology),
as well as any other portions of the physical, social and mathematical sciences

database of professional quality papers, most of which are reviewed, nearly
all of which contain extensive bibliographies. This is a great site for those

A Cup of Neuropsychology?
This site is maintained by Dr. Anthony H. Risser, a neuropsychologist on the
Physician Board of NeurologyChannel.com, the editorial board for Medical World
Search (a medical search engine), and the editorial board for The CyberMed
Catalyst (the online journal of the Alliance of Medical Internet Professionals).
Included in this site is a list of links to information on several subjects
within the field of neuropsychology, a list of professional psychological
journals, and an in-depth explanation of what neuropsychology really is.
Current Topics in Psychology
Current Topics lists the best articles, Web sites and research tools
collected by Dr. Michael Fenichel. Topics covered include addiction, adolescence,
Alzheimer's disease, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, sleep disorders, social
phobia, Tourette syndrome among many others. Also available from Dr. Fenichel's

Dr. John Grohol's Psych Central
Psych Central is a small, focused site for the consumer of mental health
information and for the mental health professional as well. It is a good link
to larger, more comprehensive sites in the mental health field. Dr. Grohol
is a clinical psychologist and a well-known pioneer and advocate for online
mental health information.
Encyclopedia of Psychology
This resource houses 1952 links to sites in the field of psychology in a searchable
database. It also has links broken down by topic. The general topics include:
career, people and history, environment behavior relationships, publications,
organizations, resources, underlying reductionistic machinery, and paradigms
and theories. The content administrator of this site is Dr. William Palya,
professor of psychology at Jacksonville State University.
Internet Mental Health
Internet Mental Health is a free encyclopedia of mental health information
that intends to cover treatment and research for the 54 most common mental
disorders, information on the 72 most common psychiatric medications (for
therapist), information on diagnosis of mental disorders, and information
on mental health related Internet links. This site is intended for use by
mental health professionals, patients who want to learn more about their illness,
friends and families of patients, mental health support groups, students,
and members of the general public who want to learn more about mental health.

Mental Help Net
Mental Help Net is committed to exploring the applications of online
communication in the mental health fields and increasing communication between
mental health disciplines. It's mission statement indicates that it will accomplish
these aims by coordinating communication between mental health disciplines,
by helping "to discuss, develop and debate in an open forum the future
of the mental health field in America and throughout the world", to "help
coordinate various components of the mental health field (such as education,
counseling, community networking, prevention, medication management, case
management, credentialing, managed care, public administration, therapy, etc.)
so as to bring about greater communication between them", to "better
educating the public about mental health issues", promoting "active collaboration
between all segments of the mental health community", improving "access
to mental health services and information", encouraging "research and
improved statistical development", publishing "such results and research papers
as needed to encourage the further development of outcome assessment measures",
cataloging and making available to online resources as they become available,
providing "professionals with the means to increase their own professional
knowledge in specific areas through continuing education courses online".

This page is a product of the APA (American
Psychological Association). It was "created to provide quick access to
mass-media information related to psychology." It is updated daily and

Classics in
the History of Psychology
Classics in the History of Psychology is an effort to make the full-texts
of a large number of historically significant public domain documents from
the scholarly literature of psychology and allied disciplines available on
the World Wide Web. The target audience is researchers, teachers, and students
of the history of psychology, both for use in their courses on the history
of psychology, and for the purposes of primary academic research. The initial
set of documents was chosen by the editor of the project, Christopher D. Green
of York University, in consultation with a number of other professional historians
of psychology.
