Ethnomusicology, Folk Music, and World Music
Attempting to collect a wide variety of links useful for the study of ethnomusicology, this gateway site has listings for organizations, institutions, archives and research centers; bibliography, periodicals and online publications; recordings (including both labels and distributors);and links arranged by geographical region (regions include British and American folk music, Native American, Asia, Middle East and North Africa,Eastern Europe and Russia, Europe, Africa, Latin American/the Caribbean/South American and Oceania). There is also a list of general dancing and dance music. As the name implies, this site is a list of 300 scholarly music resources. Most sites listed are current, thoughtful and easy to use. Music at UCC: Web resources for research in music
This online music resource is maintained by University College Cork in Cork City, Ireland. It contains a variety of information and links to information on Western music by period, genres and thematic studies, and traditional, nonwestern& popular musics. It has a great research and musicology page that contains a vast amount of research information and research tools.
Music Librarian's Choice
This is a very extensive online resource for information on the field of music in general. It has a variety of links on music research resources, copyright information, lyrics and sheet music, major composers, music education links, music journals and magazines online, music obituary indexes, reviews and program notes, professional music organizations, events, and a number of commercial sites with information on recordings, printed music, and performing rights organizations. This resource was created and is maintained by Linda Mack, Music Librarian at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Biographies of musicians are included. Rare items, oddities and film are also represented on the site.
