Subject Directories: Library

Many university libraries review, collect, and organize material into subject guides so it may be more easily found and used for research. Below are two examples.

Owens Subject Guides to Resources
[ Research Resources page ][ Course/Subject Resources ]

These highlight the most important sources in an academic discipline.

They provide links to online sites in a subject.

The material selected for inclusion has been reviewed by librarians and is usually annotated. They also highlight important books and journals that are available in Owens library.

Other excellent library subject directories:  AcademicInfo.net, Librarians' Internet Index (lii.org), Social Science Information Gateway (sosig.ac.uk),and Blue Web'n Learning Sites Library (http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/bluewebn/)
