Lightning Round Guidelines

The deadline for proposal submission is February 29, 2008.

Proposals will be peer-reviewed and notification of acceptance or decline will be made via e-mail by April 13, 2008.

Each presentation must be 10 minutes or under, so we can move on (short, like lightning!) to the next speaker. Avoid too much lead-up (history, background) to your main point. Focus on the main topic.

Bring a handout with a URL, or your business cards, in case someone wants more information or has questions to ask you. Please bring your Microsoft PowerPoint slides on a jump drive for speedy and dependable access.

Each Lightning Round presenter is also invited to write a paper for the Proceedings, if desired. Papers should be 7-20 pages in length, which includes any charts, figures, and works cited.

For the 8th annual Brick and Click Libraries symposium, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for Graduate Students to present a Lightning Round Session! One Graduate Student presenter will receive a complimentary registration to Brick and Click 2008 and a $500 stipend.
