  5. Do the presentation/paper proposals go through a peer review process?

  6. Yes, they go through a peer review process. The reviewers are our team heads (committee chairpersons) for Access Services, Technical Services, Reference/Public Services, Collection Management/Development, and Information (Reference and IT) Librarians.

  7. Can more than one person present a Lightning Round Session?

  8. No, because of the short presentation time.

  9. Will I have a live Internet connection in my presentation area?

  10. Yes.

  11. Would it be possible to get a flip chart stand for my presentation?

  12. Yes. Contact Sarah Park with inquiries.

  13. How does one purchase additional copies of the proceedings?

  14. To order copies of previous years' proceedings complete and mail the Proceedings Order Form.

  15. As a presenter, is there a discount for attending the conference? If so, how is this applied?

  16. Yes, the presenter fee is $100. If you are a presenter, mark "$100.00 presenter" in the Conference Registration Fees section of the form and send that amount with your registration form.

  17. The registration form says that registration after October 12 won't include lunch. Can people still register after October 12th (but not be fed)?

  18. Yes, people can register the day of the symposium if they wish, but late registration fees don't include lunch or the proceedings. However, food is available in the Student Union and a copy of the proceedings may be purchased at the registration desk.

  19. I need the FEIN to process a request for payment -- actually I need a W-9.

  21. What is your policy on cancellations?

  22. Substitutions are welcome at any time, just let Beverly Ruckman (660.562.1192) know before 1:00 p.m. on November 5th. However, cancellations must be made via e-mail to Beverly by 3:45 p.m. CST on October 31, 2008. Cancellations will result in a refund of the fee minus $20.00 for the proceedings (which will be mailed to the cancelled registrant after the symposium).

  23. Have I registered?

  24. Registrants are notified by email upon the receipt of their registration. If you did not receive this notice, verify your registration by contacting Kathy Ferguson (660-562-1846).

  25. Have I signed up for the Thursday night dinner?

  26. Those attending the Thursday night dinner are notified by email upon the receipt of their registration. If you did not receive this notice, verify your registration by contacting Kathy Ferguson (660-562-1846).

  27. How do I register after the deadline?

  28. To register after the deadline contact Kathy Ferguson (660.562.1846).
    To register on the day of the symposium ask at the Registration Desk.

  29. Is there is handicapped parking near the Student Union?

  30. Yes, with your handicapped license plate or hang tag, handicapped parking is available in Lot 57 next to the Student Union. If by chance the handicapped parking spaces in Lot 57 are taken that morning, please give Connie Ury a call at 660.562.8942 and she will contact Campus Safety to make other arrangements for you.

    Driving Directions to Lot 57 from the airport in Kansas City:
    1. Go north on I-29, passing through St. Joseph.
    2. Proceed north, and exit on U.S. Highway 71 North to Maryville, exit #56A.
    3. After exiting, go 35 miles on Highway 71 to Maryville.
    4. Take Business 71 into town; it becomes Main Street
    5. Proceed on Main and take a left on 4th Street.
    6. Continue on 4th Street (it changes to College Avenue); you will pass the football stadium and a large white building on your right.
    7. After the large white building (Mary Linn Performing Arts Center) take a right on College Drive.
    8. Take a right onto Memorial Drive.
    9. Take a right to enter Lot 57.

  31. I need to leave before the 3:00 shuttle, how do I get back to Parking Lot 62?

  32. Ask at the Registration Desk for directions back to Lot 62.

  33. What if I get a parking ticket?

  34. Contact Carolyn Johnson.

  35. Is there a shuttle from the Kansas City Airport to Maryville?

  36. No there is not a shuttle, but there are car rental companies on site at the Kansas City Airport.

  37. Are all of the meeting rooms in the same building?

  38. Yes, in fact all of the meeting rooms are on the third floor of the Student Union. For exact locations of meeting rooms view a map of the Student Union third floor.

  39. Do you have any door prizes?

  40. Yes, both silly and serious!
    Good news: H.W. Wilson will again be donating a one year gratis subscription to one of their databases.

  41. Will it be possible to take a tour of Owens Library?

  42. Yes, a tour of Owens Library will be available from 8:10 a.m. to 8:40 a.m., beginning from the Registration Desk at the Student Union.

  43. Where can I make photocopies?

  44. Only in the event of a copying emergency; ask at the Registration Desk.

  45. Where can I check my email?

  46. The email stations are located near the Registration table.

  47. What are the networking opportunities at Brick & Click?

  48. Networking opportunities include the Pre-symposium Dinner, attendee list in packet, breakfast, lunch, and break.

  49. Is there recommended lodging for the symposium?

  50. All hotels listed on our Lodging page are recommended!

  51. I am a L.S. graduate student, how do I verify?

  52. Submit a letter of verification from your advisor or the dean of the program with your registration form.
