The “Brick and Click Libraries” symposium has been hosted by Northwest Missouri State University since 2001. The symposium was created because of the need for practical and affordable professional development opportunities for academic librarians.

In order to successfully support the academic information needs of both on-ground (brick) and online (click) students, library professionals and paraprofessionals must continually expand their knowledge base and awareness of new resources and applications. The symposium Proceedings also provides a publishing venue for academic librarians, as well as contributing to the professional literature.

The first symposium consisted of 12 presentations and attendees from the Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri region. Today, “Brick and Click Libraries” draws attendees from coast to coast and includes approximately 35 sessions and poster presentations. The symposium also offers exhibits, networking opportunities, fun door prizes, and great food! Come join us on November 7, 2008, in the rolling hills of Northwest Missouri.
