"The Association of American Colleges and Universities is the leading

of undergraduate liberal education." This site includes information and
some full text publications are available about the issues of diversity, general
education, curriculum, liberal education, institutional change, civic engagement,
science & health, faculty, women, and global learning.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
This organization
"is a major national and international center for research and policy
studies about teaching. Its mission is to address the hardest problems faced
in teaching in public schools, colleges and universities—that is, how
to succeed in the classroom, how best to achieve lasting student learning,
and how to assess the impact of teaching on students." Several reports
about issues related to teaching and learning in higher education are available
in full-text via the site's eLibrary.

"This site draw[s] together and provide[s] context to various ranking
services." Descriptions of a number of ranking services are included.
Information that helps the user evaluate the content of each service. Additionally,
cautions about the reliability of ranking services are included, along with
a bibliography of sources that discuss the reliability of ranking systems.

Statistics at a Glance
"Education Statistics at a Glance brings together data from several NCES
sources including: The Condition of Education, The Digest of Education Statistics,
and Projections of Education Statistics. You will be able to find information
in these compendiums by searching documents through their tables of contents
(see below), by subject area, and through title only word searches."
Several areas within the site include information about participation, enrollment,
faculty and staff, student populations, financial aid, retention rates, degrees
earned, funding, and finance for higher education. Other statistics such as
educational levels achieved, four year institutions, and community colleges
are also included.
Higher
Education Resource Hub
"The site aims to provide a central resource for researchers and practitioners
active in the area of student assessment, particularly within the field of
higher education; that is, university and college level. It has links to discussion
lists, articles, journals, books, conferences, software tools, organizations,
and other sites likely to be of interest. A special section is devoted exclusively
to multiple choice tests (a.k.a. MCQs); another section lists glossaries of
terms used in the literature."
Measuring:
The State-by-State Report Card for Higher Education
Reports at this site evaluate higher education in each state based
upon preparation of high school students, student enrollment, costs of participation,
attrition, retention, matriculation, and the economic benefits to the state.

National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education

public policies that enhance Americans' opportunities to pursue and achieve
