Online Dual Credit

Northwest Missouri State University offers online dual credit courses for students that unable to take onsite dual credit courses in their high schools due to schedules and course availability.  Dual credit courses are a lower cost way for students to get a jumpstart on completing their college degrees.  They also prepare students for the rigor of college level classes and aid in the transition from high school to college.

Northwest Online Dual Credit courses offer the convenience of an asynchronous online course while staying affordable at the online dual credit tuition rate.  Each Online Dual Credit instructor provides online office hours via Zoom each week as well as regular communication via Northwest email.

Northwest Online Dual Credit courses align with the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) Transfer Core (general education requirements). The Core is a group of required courses in each degree that students take to complete general education requirements. The core consists of 44 credit hours that must be completed by graduation. The Core courses, combined with the major, minor and elective courses total a minimum of 120 credit hours. Keep in mind that some majors require more credits to earn a degree.

The MDHE Transfer Core provides students with a Transfer Guarantee.  To see how the Northwest course aligns with courses offered at other public institutions in the state, visit https://dhe.mo.gov/core42.php.  The Northwest Dual Credit Program is proud to be nationally accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships.  This accreditation will assist students that plan to transfer their Northwest courses out of the state of Missouri.
