Getting Started

How to Apply: If you are interested in applying for one of Northwest-Kansas City’s Bachelor degree completion programs, fill out a free application.

Auditing Your Transcripts: Schedule an appointment with Lauren Baker (laurenb@nwmissouri.edu) to audit your transcripts.

Elementary and Special Education Students Only: Take the MoGEA exam prior to the start of your first term at Northwest-Kansas City.

Attend New Student Orientation: You will receive an email invitation prior to the start of your first term at Northwest-Kansas City.

During Your Program

Meet with Your Advisor: You will need to meet with your advisor at least once every term in order to receive your registration PIN.

Request your Senior Statement: One year out from your anticipated graduation date, fill out a request for a Senior Deficiency Statement. You must have at least 75 earned hours to complete this application.

Finishing

Apply for Graduation: In the term preceding your term of graduation fill out the Graduation Application on CatPAWS. Once you login to CatPAWS, click on the Student tab. Then you should select Student Records, and then select Apply for Graduation. You must have at least 90 earned hours to fill out the application.

Prepare for Commencement: Prior to commencement, a schedule of commencement activities will be emailed from the Registrar's Office. The form and instructions for ordering cap and gown is available through myNorthwest.

How to Apply: If you are interested in applying to Graduate School and enrolling in classes, you should begin by completing the free Application for Graduate Studies.

Attend New Student Orientation: You will receive an email invitation prior to the start of your first term at Northwest-Kansas City.

DAE/TLE & Writing Assessment Information: Students pursuing a degree in Educational Leadership may be required to take a Departmental Admissions Exam (DAE), Teacher Leader Exam (TLE), or a Writing Assessment. Portfolio Review Information: All students seeking a Master's in Educational Leadership or Specialist in Education degree, and those seeking certification for the principalship are required to compile, submit, and defend a professional portfolio. The portfolio should be designed to convey a clear picture of the student's professional philosophy, motivations and capabilities. Syllabi from various courses will indicate possible items to be included but must be utilized in the building/district setting.

Applying for Graduation: In the term preceding your term of graduation fill out the Graduation Application on CatPAWS. Once you login to CatPAWS, click on the Student tab. Then you should select Student Records, and then select Apply for Graduation.
