In order to comply with the guidelines established for Study Abroad programs, Northwest requires that all Study Abroad participants verify their enrollment in an ample health insurance policy that will provide them with comprehensive coverage while they are abroad that is equal to or greater than the coverage provided by the HTH Worldwide Blanket Student Accident and Sickness Policy.
Whether students are enrolled in the Northwest Missouri State University Student Health Plan, a plan through a parent's employer, or another type of plan, it is essential to be familiar with the existing coverage and the procedures required while overseas. Most domestic health insurance policy may not cover the insurer while overseas, as many policies have strict coverage limitations, or only cover medical emergencies abroad
If students find that they do not have insurance that will provide them with coverage abroad that is equal to or greater than the HTH Worldwide Sickness and Accident Policy, they must agree in writing to purchase the HTH Worldwide Blanket Sickness and Accident policy for Study Abroad.
It is important to note that HTH also has identified a network of doctors worldwide who will provide treatment and file claims on the students' behalf without requiring payment at the time of treatment. Prior to departure for study abroad, HTH assists students in establishing treatment for on-going medical conditions while abroad (including doctor visits and continuing medications). For a brief summary of the features and benefits of the Northwest Study Abroad Insurance plan, please see the HTH Worldwide Blanket Student Accident and Sickness Policy.
Once eligible participants receive their Medical Insurance ID card from HTH Worldwide, they should visit www.hthstudents.com, and using the certificate number on the front of the card, sign in to the site for comprehensive information and services relating to this plan. Participants can track claims, search for a doctor, view plan information, download claim forms and read health and security information.
Claims are submitted to HTH Worldwide, Attn: International Claims, One Radnor Corporate Center, Suite 100, Radnor PA 19087, USA. More information can be found on the HTH the user's guide.
