All applicants, regardless of program in which they are participating, must submit the following documents to the study abroad Office by the deadlines established by the Northwest Study Abroad Office.
Northwest application form
- This application must be printed and mailed to the Northwest Study Abroad Office. Please note that NO application fee is required for exchange students. It is important that students include proof of financial means as stated on the application. US immigration requires that students submit proof of financial records in order to issue an entry immigration document or I-20.
In order to start the process your course enrollment, you must complete a course pre-enrollment form
that will include a list of courses that you would like to follow during your exchange program at Northwest. This form can be mailed or e-mailed to the Study Abroad Office.
How to Lookup Courses Online
- Go to CatPAWS
- Click on "Class Schedule in Detail"
- Select the appropriate term and click "Submit"
- A list of "subjects" or areas of study is on the top of the page. Select a subject and then click on "submit" at the bottom of the page. A list of courses in that area, times available and instructors will be listed.
- Once you select your courses complete the pre-enrollment form.

When the completed Northwest application form and course pre-enrollment form is received, we will issue and mail to your home address an official acceptance letter and an acceptance packet in which information about immigration, housing, health forms, health insurance, and airport pick-up request will be included. Your immigration document (I-20) will be included in this packet, which you will need in order to apply for a student visa to come to the US.
Please note that all exchange students are required to live on-campus. Once your application process has been completed you must submit a housing application to the Northwest Study Abroad Office. It is important that this application is sent to our office in order to keep track of your housing for you. A deposit is waived to exchange students prior arrival, however it will be paid upon your arrival to campus.

Submit Airport pick-up request
to Study Abroad Office Exchange students MUST arrive during the designated arrival days. Airport pick-up is free of charge for exchange students arriving during the designated days.
Students must submit an airport-pick up form to the Northwest Study Abroad Office, once the ticket has been purchased. Airport pick-up form.
Notify Study Abroad Office when you are granted your student visa.
