Job Description

To provide safe and timely transportation and shuttle services to Northwest students. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 Perform general clerical duties including typing, filing, record keeping, maintenance of files; receive, screen, and transfer calls and other duties as assigned.  Requires driving a University vehicle on and off campus to transport students. Must have a valid, state issued driver’s license and obtain University Shuttle Certification.

Communications:

Ability to follow oral instruction; Operate all communications equipment provided; Serve as communications liaison between field staff and communications centers; Communicate effectively with students using the service;

Critical/Creative Thinking and Problem Solving:

  • Ability to handle multiple calls simultaneously
  • Ability to resolve difficult interpersonal situations
  • Ability to maintain a calm presence of mind under difficult circumstances or in the event of an emergency

Computer:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 and basic Windows

Self-Directed Learning:

  • Ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks

Competence in a Discipline:

  • Fundamentals of oral communication

Personal/Social Development:

  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Act professional and be dependable
  • Attention to detail
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations skills
  • Ability to be on time and punctual

  • Ability to function effectively as a member of the Safe Rides team
  • Ability to work with diverse on-and off-campus populations

Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Successful completion of investigative background check
  • Able and willing to complete the AED/CPR training
  • First Aid Training and Critical Communications training within one year of hire date
  • Successful completion of Shuttle Certification course offered by University Transportation Services.
  • Must have a current, valid, state issued driver’s license and a safe driving record 
  • Must meet all University requirements to drive a University vehicle
