Job Description

To aid in the publication of Northwest Student Publications: Northwest Missourian Newspaper, Tower Yearbook or Heartland View e-magazine;

Duties and Responsibilities:

Attend all staff related meetings and training, design advertisements for student publications, proofread and make corrections to advertisements, adhere to deadlines and work directly with the Advertising Sales Manager and Advertising Design Manager.

Communications:

  • Utilize effective oral and written communication when delegating or answering questions

Critical/Creative Thinking and Problem Solving:

  • Meet deadlines, handle advertising problems, use good design judgment and help choose award entries.

Computer:

  • Macs
  • Microsoft Word
  • PhotoShop
  • InDesign

Self-Directed Learning:

  • Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks

Competence in a Discipline:

  • Assist with determination of deadlines and advertising design content

Personal/Social Development:

  • Exhibit professionalism and courtesy
  • Exhibit positive customer relations' skills
  • Pay attention to detail

Team Work/Team Leading:

  • Work with advertisinig managers and actively participate in advertising staff meetings

Multicultural:

  • Have ability to work with diverse on and off campus populations

Qualifications

 Successful completion or current enrollment in Introduction to Media Advertising and/or Media Design. Must have a current, valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Wage Rate

$7.35 with an opportunity to earn bonuses

Hours Available

6 hours per week
