Job Description

To serve as an ambassador of Northwest and an agent of orientation to new students and their parents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to engage in a strong working relationship with the academic department and student support offices
  • Will assist and develop new students' first trimester schedules
  • Work in a team-oriented environment and also lead student groups
  • Advise students and communicate with academic departments in designated areas
  • Develop creative and stimulating methods of orientation for new students


  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Comfortable performing and answering questions

Critical/Creative Thinking and Problem Solving:

  • Creative and innovative


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet

Competence in a Discipline:

  • Preference may be given to students in certain majors to work with their content area

Personal/Social Development:

  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Professional and courteous in nature
  • Attention to detail
  • Well organized

Team Work/Team Leading:

  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team-oriented environment


  • Appreciation and interest in students from all backgrounds


  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Attention to detail, well organized, creative and innovative
  • Comfortable performing and answering questions
  • Vast knowledge of Northwest's culture, history and policies
  • Professional and courteous in nature
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Preferred but not required to have a current, valid driver's license; if in possession of a current, valid driver's license, must have a safe driving record and meet all University requirements to drive a University vehicle and University all-terrain vehicle
  • One year of college work at Northwest and current enrollment (summer enrollment not required)
  • Sufficient academic progress with 2.5 GPA

Wage Rate


Length of Employment

May 15-July 2 (Approximately 30 hours per week in May; 40 hours per week in June, including Saturday, June 20th and 27th)


June 5-July 2 (40 hours per week in June, including Saturday, June 20th and 27th)
