Job Description

Attend ITV Chinese I class 4:30 to 5:45 Monday and Wednesday to facilitate Chinese Language instruction. And ITV Classroom Facilitator is in charge of the ITV equipment (videoconferencing-based) during an ITV class or event. this will include, but is not limited to, establishing the video connection to the remote site or sites, running the audio/video equipment during the ITVe class or meeting, providing a basic level of technological support for instructors, student or meeting participants (primarily about laptop computers), and may involve other tasks such as distributing or collecting paperwork prior to or after the event is over, and/or recording the event onto a DVD.

Communications:

• Ability to effectively communicate with instructors and students
• Ability to effectively communicate via telephone any technical difficulties which might occur during an ITV event to the supervisor
• Ability to follow oral instructions
• Strong English language communication skills

Critical/Creative Thinking & Problem Solving:

• Basic ITV equipment troubleshooting

Computer:

• ITV classroom experience helpful
• Ability to help students or meeting participants with questions they might have about Northwest laptop computers, connecting to the Northwest computer network and eCompanion

Self-Directed Learning:

• Ability to work in a distance learning environment
• Reliability - Work is unsupervised
• Punctuality - MUST arrive on time in order to make the video connection prior to the start event
• Promptly inform supervisor of any ITV equipment problems

Competence in Discipline:

• Must be fluent in speaking Chinese

• Interpersonal communication skills

• Exhibit professionalism during ITV events

• Ability to work with Lead Professor at Missouri State University

Qualifications

Effective oral communication skills
A fundamental understanding of audio visual equipment
A technological background
Must speak fluent Chinese
