Job Description

The department of Mathematics, Computer Science & Information Systems is looking for qualified students to provide additional tutoring to students enrolled in the Math Skills Developmental Mathematics program; Tutors will spend time in the Developmental Mathematics Center assisting students master math concepts including but not limited to number sense, beginning and intermediate algebra, and basic data analysis; Tutors will need to be able to help students navigate through MyMathLab.

Communications:

• Tutors must be able to effectively communicate mathematical concepts

Personal/Social Development:

• Exhibit professionalism and courtesy
• Maintain confidentiality
• Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills
• Work with a wide diversity of university students
• Tutors will be required to attend some informational/training sessions
• Additional tasks may include some grading, typing, and record keeping.

Qualifications

A strong background in mathematics required; Open to any major, mathematics/statistics education majors preferred; No prior experience in math tutoring is necessary, but is preferred.
