Job Description |
To assist writers in improving drafts through revision by explaining rhetorical concepts, language use, and academic conventions; One on one tutoring by appointment; Diagnosing and prioritizing writers' needs; Communicating strengths and weaknesses to the writer; Guiding composition and revision work without overtaking the composition. Qualifications |
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; Successful completion of 10-380 Practicum in Teaching Writing is preferred; All fall new-hires must enroll in English 380, Practicum for Teaching English. This is a one-unit course offered on Tuesdays from 5-550. Students who are hired in the spring agree to enroll in this course in the subsequent fall and to train ahead of time with current GAs and the Writing Center Coordinator during the spring semester. |
