Job Description |
To provide office assistance to the Office of Career Services; Answer phones, take messages, assist callers with questions, type correspondence, make photocopies, run errands, set appointments, distribute items, send faxes, file and other duties as assigned; Follow oral instructions; Utilize effective oral communications skills when answering questions; Utilize effective written communications skills; Contact and interact with University stakeholders (customers) by phone or written communications; Process mail; Receive general instructions and complete projects independently; Resolve needs of clients using knowledge of campus resources; Develop detailed documents from general instructions; Process and send credential files; Design and implement bulletin boards; Clean, organize, unpack, replenish and rotate office supplies inventory; Conduct Internet research; Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet; Prefer knowledge of Microsoft Publisher and Access; Must be open to learning career placement software and web registration software; Prefer ability to utilize a wide variety of hardware and software; Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks; Assist with resume referral process; Knowledge of career related questions and resources; Assist with organization and execution of career events; Maintain confidentiality; Exhibit professionalism and courtesy; Pay attention to detail; Organized; Exhibit positive customer relation skills; Conduct student staff meetings; Work under strict time lines; Demonstrate ability to work positively in a team environment; Develop agendas, take minutes and lead student staff meetings; Have ability to work with diverse on and off campus populations. |

Qualifications |
Knowledge of campus resources preferred; Good oral and written communication skills while also having sensitivity to non-verbal communications; Professional, courteous, organized and attention to detail; Maintain confidentiality; Must be able to work minimum of 12 hours per week. |
