Job Description

To provide assistance to the instructors and students in the assigned course; Grading; Holding laboratory help sessions outside of class time; Assisting with in-class lectures; Proctoring exams; Tutoring individual students; Assignment solutions preparation; Other duties as assigned.

Communications:

• Ability to follow and give oral instructions
• Ability to work with students in a supportive manner

Critical Creative Thinking and Problem Solving:

• Receive general instructions and complete projects independently
• Ability to complete coursework easily for the course assigned
• Answer student questions accurately and describe topics in such a way that the students can understand it

Computer:

• Advanced ability to use all required software implemented within the course; This might include IDE software, programming languages, Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Self-Directed Learning:

• Be able to solve new problems as the course content may vary from semester to semester
• Proofread class materials

Competence in a Discipline:

• The student should have passed 44-141 with a grade of A or B
• The student should have passed the assigned course and its prerequisites with grades of A or B

Personal/Social Development:

• Maintain confidentiality of student work and grades and faculty materials
• Exhibit professionalism and courtesy to faculty and students
• Pay attention to detail
• Exhibit positive student relations skills
• Work well with instructors

Team Work/Team Leading:

• Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment
• Be able to lead other students when working individually or in small groups

Multicultural:

• Have ability to work with diverse campus populations

Qualifications

Good academic standing; Completed 44-141 with grade of A or B; Completed assigned course and its prerequisites with grades of A or B.
