Job Description

To provide peer mentors/laboratory assistants to facilitate learning the laboratory settings in the respective course; Assist in setting up and breaking down laboratory exercises and examinations; assist in facilitating and improving the learning experience; aid the instructor in evaluating students; occasionally drive a university van with 15 or fewer students;Ability to follow oral instructions; Utilize effective oral communications when answering questions; Evaluate students and share perceptions with faculty; Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks; Have the ability to prepare laboratory materials for the respective course;Pay attention to detail; Exhibit friendliness and courtesy;Ability to maintain confidentially; Demonstrate ability to work positively with others; Have the ability to work with diverse on-campus population.

Qualifications

Completion of respective course with a "B" or above; Motivated to assist peers in the learning experience; Have high expectations and be able to establish a good rapport with a diverse group of individuals.

Wage Rate

$6.65

Hours Available

Minimum of 4 hours a week
