Job Description

To provide computer assistance to art students and assist in maintenance and security of equipment; Maintain security of computer equipment and lab during scheduled hours; Monitor usage of art design lab upon request; Maintain and turn in a weekly log; Shut down equipment; Collect fees for materials; Report any problems to instructor; Utilize effective oral communications when answering questions; Report any security issues to Campus Safety; Resolve needs of clients; Trouble shoot hardware problems; Understand fundamental hardware components with printers, scanners, ZIP drives and networks; Experience with, Photoshop CS3 required; Work unsupervised; Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks; Assertive and uninfluenced by peers; Exhibit professionalism and courtesy; Exhibit positive customer relations skills; Demonstrate ability to work positively with others; Have ability to work with diverse on and off campus populations; Obtain general knowledge of art fundamentals; Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Art majors preferred; Completion of CSIS 44-130 Computers and Info Tech or equivalent; Able to load, find and delete files; Understand fundamental hardware components with printers, scanners, ZIP drives, and networks; Experience with the following software applications: Photoshop CS3 required.

Wage Rate

$7.65

Hours Available

10-14 Hours; Flexible schedule but must be available for some evenings and weekend hours.

Start Date

June 15;  This position will continue until July 24, 2009.
