Job Description

To provide computer software assistance to art students and assist in maintenance and security of equipment..

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with all Adobe CS6 and Newtek software questions.  Must have Adobe CS6 experience. Maintain security of computer equipment and lab during scheduled hours; Monitor usage of art computer lab upon request; maintain a weekly log; shut down equipment, check windows; collect fees for materials; other duties as assigned.

Competencies Expected:

Adobe CS6 experience.  All other computer skills not critical.  CommunicationsReport any problems to instructor; Utilize effective oral communications when answering questions; Report any security issues to University Police Department.

Critical/Creative Thinking and Problem Solving: 

Resolve needs of students. Trouble-shoot hardware problems.

Computer: 

Understand fundamental hardware components with printers, scanners, and networks; Good experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, InDesign, After Effects (AE and Acrobat not critical); Experience with NewTek Lightwave 3D.

Self-Directed Learning: 

Work unsupervised; Have ability to recognize, initiate and complete various tasks.

Competence in a Discipline:   

Basic knowledge of graphic design or interactive digital media.

Personal/Social Development: 

Assertive and uninfluenced by peers; Exhibit professionalism and courtesy. Exhibit positive customer relations skills.

Team Work/Team Leading:

Demonstrate ability to work positively with others.

Multicultural:

Have ability to work with diverse campus populations

Cultural Enrichment:  

Possess general knowledge of art fundamentals.

Qualifications

Art majors preferred, Graphic Design or IDM majors highly desired. Successful completion of CSIS 44-130 Computers and Info Tech or equivalentAble to load, find and delete files; Understand fundamental hardware components with printers, scanners, and networks; Good experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver. Acrobat, InDesign, some After Effects; Experience with NewTek Lightwave 3D highly desirable. Assist with all Adobe CS6 and Newtek software questions.  Must have Adobe CS6 experience. Maintain security of computer equipment and lab during scheduled hours; Monitor usage of art computer lab upon request; maintain a weekly log; shut down equipment, check windows; collect fees for materials; other duties as assigned.
