Job Description |
Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor such as: Prepare milking equipment and bulk tank for milking; Move cows between housing and milking facilities for milking and help other employees bring in cows if needed or requested; Handle and milk all cows in an orderly, proper, and consistent manner; Cows should not be frightened or excited either before or during milking; Milk cows using approved procedures, including pre- and post- milking, to obtain optimum yield, product quality, and cow health; Clean and sanitize milking and milk storage equipment in compliance with state and federal regulations; Clean lots and freestalls daily; Give supervisor sufficient notice to arrange for a substitute milker if unable to work scheduled hours; Must drive a University vehicle or equipment; Availability to work during semester breaks and holidays as needed;Timeliness for submitting Web Time Sheet required. Qualifications |
Agriculture major; Minimum 2.0 GPA; Experience operating a tractor and loader and other farm equipment; Must have a current, valid driver's license and a safe driving record; Must meet all University requirements to drive a University vehicle or equipment; Ability to perform manual tasks involving heavy lifting and mobility; Available to work hours 5:00-8:00 AM and 4:00-7:00 PM. |
